Backend Developer (Ruby or Elixir)

Your work

You’ll spend most of your time in the first months building the base of our new platform, building new APIs, connecting with our providers APIs, processing millions of profiles and travel reservations, and exposing everything in a simple way to our Front End team.

Depending on your background you will work either in our Elixir team or in our Ruby team, but willingness to work with other teams occasionally is a plus!

We’ll spend time helping you to understand our business and archetypical customer in detail. Our engineers don’t just follow instructions—they have their own vision of the product and are always looking to find ways to do things better.


  • You should have extensive experience (+4y) developing complex web applications with Ruby on Rails or Elixir
  • We work with lots of external APIs, so you need to be a quick learner and be able to quickly make your way with unfamiliar documentation.
  • Even if we are building a new platform every transformation may require integrate with old systems. You are not scared of dealing with some outdated systems (SOAP APIs, SAML, SFTP exchanges, etc)
  • You need to practice modern software development techniques such as unit testing, continuous integration & distributed version control.
  • Proficient in English in writing and speaking
  • You like having fun and don't take yourself too seriously We believe that working together as a team is the most important thing for success.
  • You have samples of past work, code, and projects that we can take a look at.

Also good if:

  • You like to get your hands on the systems, using Docker, Kubernetes and a Cloud Provider (We like Google Cloud)
  • Since we have a team for Ruby and a team for Elixir there is no need to have experience with both, but if you have worked with both is a plus.
  • You are able to communicate or you would like to learn Spanish.
